Please email me and let me know if this phrase gives you your hometown, okay?

Thursday, December 27

Jake and I got a lot done today. I went to the Doctor and let him know the new pain pills he has given me are working. Then, I went to a meeting. Jake waited in the other room and watched TV. When we got home, we folded and hung up clothes. I got my closet cleaned out. Now every closet in the house is clean!!! That is a miracle!

I am going to finish off this laundry tomorrow morning, have lunch with my sponsor, and then try to get the girls' room painted. We are going to paint it as lavendar color. It needs it really badly and I am looking forward to having it DONE!

I can't believe how many clothes these kids have when you can actually find them!! They have some nice clothes too, and they are going to start wearing them. I even have some decent things myself.

I really want to go see that movie "Ali", but it's too cold to go to the drive in and I can't take ALL these kids to the walk in theater. Not only that it costs so much more to go to a walk in.

Leroy is out working on his old truck. He bought a new one (don't ask me how we are going to make the payments), and he is going to sell his old one, but has to tune it up or whatever first.

Well, one more cigarette and I am off to bed!!
Doc Visit

It got really cold last night and we brought the rabbit in and let it sleep in the bathtub. We let Molly the dog in too.

Today I have to go to the Doctor.

Jake is still tripping about his (x) girlfriend and wants to call her all the time. I have had to ground him from the phone to get him to quit messing with her.

Wednesday, December 26

The day after.....

Well, of course Christmas totally wore me out!!! What a day! The kids liked their stuff though. Jamila liked her Diva doll best, Jacob liked his SouthPole clothes, Georgie liked his Play Station game, Lee Lee liked her Bop It, and Destiny her Barney tape.

Jake and his girl friend Anna have broken up. It really messed with him at first, but he is going to be okay. I thank God I have Leroy to talk to him about stuff like that. I am really not that good at it.

I am off until January 7th! Is that great or what?!?!?!?!

Sunday, December 23

STOP the Hate!
I am so proud of myself

You would not believe the work I got done yesterday. I did all the girls and Georges rooms' dresser drawers and closets. Jake got all the yard raked, but the leaves have to picked up. Still it was a huge job!!!

Today I would like to get Leroy and my drawers and closet done. The new pain pills the Doc gave me seem to be working....I am actually able to function.

Jake's Big Brother is coming to take Jake to a Bucaneer's game today. Him, his wife, and baby son live in Jacksonville, FL. He is a doctor. When Jake was 7 years old, I signed him up for the Big Brothers program and he still has a great relationship with him.

My Dad and his wife are coming over today too! I am really looking forward to that.

Saturday, December 22

Okay........I finally going to get started on the girl's drawers.
Good Mornin'

Just a few more days before Christmas. I have tons to do, but I'm gonna take it slow.

I have not heard from Joy. She was suppose to have the baby over a week ago, and I have not heard a thing. I'm starting to get worried.

Thursday, December 20

Okay where are my archives?
I have had some very hard times lately with my treatment. I was taking tons of pills, but I needed them and they didn't work well anyway. Finally, I called the Doc yesterday and he is having me come in to get some new pills. A time released version. Hope that works out better.

Leroy has traded in our car on a new truck, now we are going to get his old truck back together and sell it. The payments are almost 200 dollars a month more, but it takes us down to 2 vehicles and now I won't have that old ugly truck right in the middle of my yard anymore. He did it without me because I never would have done it.

Well AGAIN, I have spent a quadtrillion dollars on Christamas. Jake got a ton of the kind of clothes he likes. And I believe the other kids made out well too!

I am teaching my noncustodial parents this week. A great bunch of guys. I am so proud of them! This is the last class of it's kind. It is class number 20 and they truly are special.

I only have a few more things to pick up for Christmas. Only my Dad and his wife, and Jake's girlfriend Anna left, oh yeah...my friend Lillie!

Wednesday, December 19

When I take the time to write, I have a ton of stuff to say!!

Monday, December 17

Busy, busy

I haven't had the opportunity to write much here. In between the holidays, the kids, the job, Leroy's side job, household stuff, etc., it has been all I can do to keep up!

I have a new computer at work with Windows XP. It's GREAT!!

Friday, December 14

A friend of mine sent this to Leroy....LOLOLOLOL

"Leroy, THE GOLD-TOOTH REINDEER"... SING IT!!!!

Leroy the GOLD TOOTHED reindeer
had a very NAPPY fro
and if you ever saw him,
he was at the LIQUOR sto'

All of Leroy's 'homeboys'
use to PLAYA HATE his 'game'
but they can't mess w/ Leroy..
'cause' he got a big OLE thang!

Then one smoggy CHRISTMAS day
SANTA came to say,
"Leroy...have you seen my sleigh?"
I know you had it the OTHER day!

So Leroy BROKE out runnin'
and SANTA pulled out his 'nine'
and SANTA shot poor Leroy
DEAD in his black behind....

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!

House Cleaner

I actually have someone working five hours in my house today to help get it clean. I think I may have to get more hired help or I will not be able to continue to work. I can't do it all anymore, and I have to work.

I had my wedding ring maintenance and cleaning done by a friend in AA today, and he did a lovely job! I am going to continue to use him.

I hope you have seen the link to the new picture page I did for my trip to West Virginia and the training. It's down there a couple of days ago. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I'm still waiting for somebody to ask me for my sweet potatoe pie recipe. I may put it on my recipe page if I have enough energy this weekend LOLOLOL.

Wednesday, December 12

Am I pooped yet?
Haven't been here much

I haven't had a chance to write much here lately. I am trying to get a lot of stuff cleared up at work. I have to teach a class all next week, and then I will be on vacation for two weeks. I really need to get things done before Friday. Plus we have a new computer lab for the clients here, and there is no one else to install software.

Well, let me get to work!

Tuesday, December 11

Day in, Day out

Just a quick note...............life is so crazy here. Molly (the puppy) is visiting in the house this morning and it makes it more uproarous than it already is. I am barely moving and I might have to kill a kid or two to get them to put their shoes on. I had a rough night last night.

Ah well......life goes on.........

Points of Light Foundation
This is the beginning of the Leadership Training web page I told folks I was going to do!!!
Life Changing Experience

The service leadership training I have just completed was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. It was not what I expected and the results were much more than I could have imagined.

We all took a Myers Briggs test thingy. Later I will look that up and put a link here. I found out that I was a ESFJ. I will describe that later as well. I want to mention a few things though first thing this morning.

First of all, I have been to tons of conferences and trainings. This is the first one I went to as a sober person. It made a big difference. No hang overs, etc. was great, but the location of the training at "The Woods" in West Virginia was the so AWESOME it is hard to describe. I put a link here before I left and I would HIGHLY recommend anyone going there for a vacation, scheduling a training there, or a personal retreat. My room's tub was a jacuzzi and I had a fireplace in my room. The air was fresh and full of pine in the evenings. The food was excellent and the staff wonderful. If you call there, ask for Mary. She even got me some free homemade apple butter!

The training itself included a lot of cultural competence and made me aware of lots of things I am now working on improving. One thing in particular.......I have always had "no problem" with gay folks, but did not want my own children to have those inclinations. I now think it important to say that I hope my children find their soul mate and if that persons is the same sex as them, or anything else..........I would be happy for them. I want them to be happy like I am. Leroy is my soul mate, and I hope they each find theirs.

I cannot explain everything in one entry here, but I will say that a whole group of people merged in West Virginia this week. I will NEVER forget it!

Saturday, December 8

I'm back

I am too tired to tell much about the trip but I will say, it was totally awesome. It was a life changing experience I will never forget as long as I live. I have pictures to be developed and stuff to be scanned and I will make a whole page about it at homestead.com. Now I am going to lay down. Tomorrow I have week's worth of snail mail to go through. Just wait 'til I tell you how great this trip was!!!!1

Monday, December 3

Ready to Go

It's not yet 5 a.m.. My flight doesn't leave TIA until 8:45, but of course, I need to get there early. Leroy has to be to work too, and he has to drop me off.

I'll let you know what it is like a WHOLE week without Internet access when I get back!!!

God is love, and all is well.

Sunday, December 2

I will be at The Woods Resort for the next week.
Clothes Packed

Alrighty, got that done. Dinner is almost ready. Jake is making corn bread. Leroy almost have the has the outside lights up. George has NOT been good. He whines too much. The girls are taking a bath and washing their hair. Destiny is asleep.

Leroy's brother, Dwight, has gotten out of jail and is now in a drug program. I went and got him some clothes. A couple of pairs of pants, a shirt, a flannel, heavy shirt, and a pair of Reebok shoes. I also got him underware and undershirts, but not socks. I forgot socks.

My sister, Sherry, called today. While she was on the phone, I hollered at Jake and she was telling me not to yell. Kind of pissed me off, but I didn't say anything. I yell at my kids. Actually, my normal tone of voice is almost yelling LOLOLOLOL. She reminded me of my mother right before she died. Had yelled all her life, and then, all of a sudden, got extremely weird about it.

My mother died in December. It was six years ago. I miss her.
Tree

Well the Christamas Tree is UP!!! I still have to pack. Leroy is putting the lights on outside. I am making stew beef and potatoes, whether it is good for me or not! We still have to get that livingroom picked back up and I have to peel potatoes. Jake has to find my causual warm clothes for my trip.

I need to go to be early!
Okay

I have tons of stuff to do. We are gonna decorate the Christmas tree today, and put the lights outside. I have to pack and prepare for a week long trip, and I wanna cook a good meal for the kids. I have to get someone to do my girls' hair while I am gone. Leroy will NEVER be able to handle it. Busy, busy, busy
Tree Top Angel

Not long ago, far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual
trip, but there were problems everywhere. Four of his elves got
sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as
the regular ones, so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of
being behind schedule.

Then, Mrs. Claus told Santa that her Mom was coming to visit.
This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the
reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth
and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where
they went. More stress! Then when he began to load the sleigh,
one of the floorboards broke, and the toy bag fell to the ground
and scattered the toys.

Totally frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee,
with a shot of brandy. But, when he went to the cupboard, he
found the elves had hit the liquor, and there was nothing to drink.
In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and it broke into
hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to
get the broom, and found that mice had eaten the straw it was
made from.

Just then the doorbell rang and Santa cursed a bit on his way to
the door. He opened the door, and there was a little angel, with
a great big Christmas tree. The angel asked: "Where would you
like to put this tree, fat man?"

And that, my friend, is how the little angel came to be perched
on top of the Christmas tree!

Sleep

The Doc gave me some meds for pain and sleep. I'm just getting used to them. I took two pain pills (about 9 a.m.) before I went Christmas shopping (AGAIN) yesterday. Did okay, came home about 2:30, took a couple of more after all that walking and junk. Went to sleep, woke up about 8:30 p.m. Then, I was afraid I would not be able to go to sleep, so I took a sleeping pill. I'm up now, but have made up my mind, I don't need all those extra pills. When it says "as needed". I think I can wait until they are needed.

I bought a fake tree this year. It's going to look nice. Jake is wrapping all the presents, and I plan on having most of that stuff done before I go to the airport in the morning.

In the mean time...............I NEED A CUP OF COFFEE!!!

Saturday, December 1

Craziness

I taught a job readiness training for the local "Pregnant Woman Needs Help" house here in Tampa for the last couple of days. It was wonderful but exhausting. I have had a rough couple of days but am making it through.

I will be out of town from the 3rd of December until the 8th. In West Virginia on a business training trip, so I will not be posting. No computer access. If you want to read some stuff, go to May......and read through June. That's when I went to Jail LOLOLOLOLOL, and decided to get sober. God is good, isn't he.

Well, I am going to meet Jeri (Jake's girlfriends mother) at J.C. Penney's. I have to buy my brother in law Dwight some clothes. He just got out of Jail and is in a drug program. I want to make sure he has what he need. Have to get the grandkids a couple of little toys too!

Rough Night

Yesterday, after my normal noon mtg, sucked! Jake has been screwing up in school. He is NOT a bad child, he had just gotten to the 'teenage' point where he is not communicating with me. His grades are down, but I have established communication with his Algerbra teacher (that is a GOOD thing!) and have emailed his other three teachers. I have been so sick that I have allowed things to slip. I have to keep up. Not easy with medication that kicks your butt, sickness that kicks your butt, five kids, 3 animals, a crazy husband, full time job, etc.

Well......on my way to the Doc. BYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEe

Another Day

I taught my beginner computer class last night again. Got two more folks hooked up with email. Now I think I have gotten all the new students I am going to get so I can start teaching this bunch I have some more. They really enjoy learning.

I need a Graphics program where I can do text images and be able to manipulate it. Anybody have any ideas?? I have Adobe, but don't know how to create what I want. The text for my header on the blog was done by a friend. HELP!!

Molly

I live in a neighborhood where there is 2 or 3 children per household. In some cases there are 5 or 6 LOLOLOL. My son, George, hangs out with a group of boys his age. The play the Play Station, throw footballs, go fishing, etc. They are from 9 to 11 years old. Yesterday the whole group came in the house. I was laying on the couch. They brought in a little puppy (who looks like she's gonna get very big). She had the sweetest face. She immediately layed down on me and went to sleep. None of the kid's parents would let her stay. I did.......her name is Molly ;-)!

I've been laying down all day. I'm starting to feel a little better. Ups and downs, that how life is ;-)!

Sunday Morning

Leroy brought me a rose when he got home last night. I'm easy.

Having kind of a rough morning. Will probably stay in bed today.

Saturday, November 24

I'm pissed at Leroy

And I am not even going to say why. I will say he is a turd, doo doo head, poop. I'm hot, it's hot here. I ordered Domino's Pizza, and I am going to eat it all.

Plastic snowmen in the yard. Not one of my children has EVER seen snow. Well I better get my little girls in the bath. I have to get groceries tomorrow. Can you tell I'm not with it this evening???

Send snow to Tampa, Florida.

Friday, November 23

Have you seen the people out there!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not like to shop. I don't like being around a lot of people. Crowds constict me. I get irritated. I want outta there! I did it though. Went to K Mart, Target, and to a boot store. Then we (I took the boys with me) went to Wendy's and had a burger. The boot store had a big sale and Leroy has always said he wanted a pair of cowboy boots, so I got him some snake skin boots. He'll be a REAL black redneck now LOLOLOL!

I am scare to even open the Quicken and start putting the stuff in. Think I will wait until tomorrow. I did get all the grandkids $20 gift certificates from Target, and $75 ones for Markeda and Joy. I got Jake a Buccaneers Starter outfit and a Bucs shirt, and a couple of other things. Got Jamila a Diva Doll, Leighanne a Destiny's Child Barbie, George a CD player, and Destiny a big set of those blocks that attach and make a kitchen. She likes that. Plus other stuff. Underware, socks, shoes, etc.

I still have to get George some decent shoes, a couple of shorts and jeans for Jake. Couple of outfits and small toys for girls. Stuff for my Dad and Jane, Jake's girlfriend Anna, Lilly (my best friend). That should do it. I'm too tired to do anything else. I want to get the Christmas tree next weekend.

Maybe we can go to the drive in movies and see Harry Potter tonight or Saturday night.
Shopping

I put a lot of stuff on lay-a-way at K Mart but I know that they have already put it back in stock. So I'm gonna go pick up that money, get some savings out of the bank and go Christmas shopping today. Wonder how well I'm gonna hold up LOLOLOL ;-)

I have finally added another tracker and have posted at Disturbing Search Requests again. I used to do this all the time, but lost intrest in where people were coming from. Yesterday, I noticed that lots of folks were still coming to my site, so I figured I would see what was up again. DSR is how I first got started blogging. I went to Jamie.com by just typing in my first name, and he had a link to DSR. And the rest is old news........the neat part was when I found out I could do this for FREE. Up until that point I had no idea you could do free web pages.

So if you stop by here, welcome! Do whatever it is you feel you want to do, but it would be kinda neat if you signed the guest book or even better if you put a dot on the WORLD MAP.

Computer Class

I taught my little computer class last night and it was great. I had 3 students. Minnie, Rita, and Minnie's husband (forgot his name). They each have their email set up on Hotmail, and are learning to send email. I am also going to give them some time for learning typing. I only have an hour a week, so it's kind of limited. I enjoy doing it though, and they seem to enjoy being there. That's what counts.

All is well on the home front. Leroy cooked the kids Oodles of Noodles (Ramen) last night. Did I say that before? Oh, and please remember you can always go to the link on the right to get family details when I am talking about someone ;-). Georgie is heavily involved in the activities at the Recreation Center. There is something going on almost every night. This weekend they are going to go volunteer at the local homeless shelter. They will be helping to organize Holiday donations, etc. Lee Lee's behavior seems to be improving. She still is not doing well in school, but as long as her behavior stays good, we can deal with the other stuff as it comes.. Jamila is the same. Making up songs and dances ;-). Destiny is her normal bossy self. Three years old is a tough age LOLOLOL. Jake is having so problems in his classes at school. He really does not put forth a lot of effort. He waits 'til the last minute and that doesn't work. I have phone calls in to his teachers, but I guess I will have to go down there.

And that, my friends, is the current life of ME. So far, so good. I will now start doing what these people here pay me to do. I want to get all this stuff done before we are out for Thanksgiving! Yes, that's right, I have a FOUR day weekend coming up!!!!
THE REAL THREE BEARS

It's a sunny morning in the Big Forest, and the Bear family
is just waking up. Baby Bear goes downstairs and sits in
his small chair at the table. He looks into his small bowl.
It is empty.
"Who's been eating my porridge?" he squeaks.

Papa Bear arrives at the big table and sits in his big chair.
He looks into his big bowl, and it is also empty.
"Who's been eating my porridge?" he roars.

Momma Bear puts her head through the serving hatch from
the kitchen and yells,
"For God's sake, how many times do we have to go through
this? It was Momma Bear who got up first, it was Momma
Bear who woke up everyone in the house, it was Momma
Bear who made the coffee, it was Momma Bear who unloaded
the dishwasher from last night and put everything away, it
was Momma Bear who went out in the cold, early morning air
to fetch the newspaper, it was Momma Bear who set the table,
it was Momma Bear who put the cat out, cleaned the litter box,
and filled the cat's water and food dish.
And, now that you've decided to drag your asses downstairs
and grace Momma Bear's kitchen with your grumpy presence,
listen good, cause I'm only going to say this one time ...
"I HAVEN'T MADE THE PORRIDGE YET!!"

Well, Blogger says publishing is temporarily unavailable. So I'm gonna see if I can at least post and then publish later. I am at the location where I am suppose to hold my class. I hear them coming, so I better get ready ;-)!

Weekend

We had a good weekend. Went to the Tampa Bay Lightening Hockey game Saturday evening. It was actually a lot of fun! I have felt better lately Thank God! I even cooked a big dinner last night. We had Baked Chicken with Italian bread crumbs, yellow rice with onions, bell pepper and potatoes, corn, and salad. I made a deep dish sweet potatoe pie for dinner. It was great.

I have to teach a computer class after work today. So that calls for a long day ;-)!

Friday, November 16

Teaching

I have spent the last four days teaching my noncustodial parents how to fill out an application and how to interview. I only had to teach in the A.M. and used the rest of the day for work related email and phone calls. I felt decent yesterday and pretty good today. It was a beautiful day, with PERFECT weather.

I went grocery shopping before I got home so I don't have to do it this weekend when I am not going to feel good from the shot tonight. I am going to let the kids do their own thing for dinner. I am going to go take a bath and go to bed as usual.

I did buy our Turkey today though!!!! A 22 pound Butter Ball. Maybe my buddy Kindly Rat will make his way to Tampa for dinner LOLOLOLOL!

Tuesday, November 13

Back to Work

I had a very lazy three day week end. We did go to church Sunday. The only problem was we had to slip out after 4 hours. The kids were very uncomfortable and everyone was hungry. We enjoyed it, it just lasted too long. Leroy wants to start going to Crosstown Community Church and I think that is a great idea. They have the same service on Friday nights as they do on Sunday mornings, so if you want to free up your entire weekend you can go on Friday nights ;-)! The service only lasts an hour and they give good info.

I am teaching my Job Readiness Training to the Non-custodial parents this week, plus I have to teach a computer class for an hour this evening. Maybe no one will show up and I can go home LOLOLOLOL. I do want to show folks how to access the Internet though. There is a lot of info out there, that lots of folks don't know how to get to.

Saturday, November 10

Saturday!!

Leroy is at work, which is a good thing in some ways. I am feeling the after effects of my PEG shot last night. The kids were taking advantage of my weakness, so I got enough energy up to get up and knock some heads together.

Trying to get this house clean. Little house + Lots of kids = Big MESS!! I am able to open the windows though and let the fresh air in and that is a plus. Sometime this weekend I have to go through the girls' closet and drawers and bag the stuff that they can't wear anymore and pass them on to the next smallest kid in the neighborhood. Someone just gave me three big bags and I got through those, and passed some of those on too. It's ongoing!!!

Friday, November 9

Slow

I plan to take it slow today. I have tons of stuff to do, but I am coming up on a three day weekend and that is a good thing. I have to meet with the director of programs at the county jail today to see if I can do a job readiness training at the work release center. I also have to take Jake and Jamila to the Dentist. George and Lee Lee went a few weeks ago and had no cavities. Hope it works out as well for these two. I DO have a cavity and have an appt on Jan. 4 to do that. I am the BIGGEST chicken in the whole world when it comes to dentists.

I don't know if it is the more mg of Paxil or because it is 6 days since I had my shot, but I feel better today. I like going to bed early and getting up early. That works for me. I was in bed at 6:30 last night and asleep by 8:30. Up at 5 a.m. I even made the kids oatmeal this morning!

Leroy likes his new job, but I think he is getting a sinus infection. He was just at the Doctor's office Monday and didn't tell them a thing about it, now he wants me to call them to see if I can get some antibiotics. He is such a baby. Why couldn't he have told them Monday!

Oh well........better get to work.....
This is a friend of mine's web site, he is a clown that calls himself Punch!!!

Against the Odds
Day by Day

I actually cooked dinner last night. We had pasta with Basil Pesto and cornbread stuffing. I know it sounds weird, but it was good!

Leroy started his new job yesterday. The one that would have paid an extra 3 dollars an hour didn't come through, but he got another one making the same amount, so we will be okay. I hope we start getting some checks in soon from the side jobs because our bank account is almost at rock bottom.

I'm going to a conference the beginning of December for a week. Now that should be fun (NOT), if I don't have internet access, you will find me panicing!

I had a terrible weekend. I'm not going to get into it right now, but it was rough. I'll see if I have time to elaborate later.

I MADE IT HOME!!

And boy am I glad! Jake is making the kid's Bologna and cheese sandwiches and I am going to lay down. Think I will have a cheese sandwich. I miss my couch ;-)!

My pig's name is Pooter. I am now in SwineOnline: Prize Porkers - Leaders of the Pack. Right now I am number 3. Don't know if that will stick, but it's quite an accomplishment for me ;-)!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

The kids are out Trick or Treating, and then they are going to the church on the corner for a party! I think this will be a better year than last year. Jake met some kids up at the Church last year and acted crazy. He's not a nut this year ;-)! I hope everyone has a safe evening.
Tired

Thank God it is about time to go home! I am SO pooped!!!!!!! All I want to do is get to the house and lay down. I got some work done today, but not enough. I am really not too pleased with the overall quantity of my work. I could do better if I just had the energy. I like doing a good job, but I guess no one is perfect. I'll see if I can get here really early tomorrow. I seem to have more energy in the morning!

Morning

A quick note. I'm at work. Feel less assertive today, but that's okay. By the end of the day yesterday my assertiveness I felt yesterday had turned kind of to aggression and I don't like that. I would rather be a tad lazy and peaceful. Funny how this medication can mess with your mind.

Well, I have a million things to do and I have to take my Barley Green (YUCK!!!)

Work

Well, work is going fine. I am actually getting stuff done. Sending myself messages on my Palm Top constantly because I can't remember my own freakin' name 90% of the time. It is working though and that's what counts.

I am working on a few web pages for the Virual Trade and E-Commerce Center here at work. Easy stuff. Just text and links. I will put links to them here when I get them done. I have TONS of other stuff to do though as well. I actually have to time everything I do now, so I can get it done. Kind of squirrely, huh?

My piggie at Swine Online is doing well. If you are playing this, please email me and let me know what your piggie's name is and I will try to beat your butt ;-).

I've started feeling better, must be because I am about ready to go home. Then, by the time I get home, I will be pooped again ;-).

Rough night, better day

My new weekly shot kicked my butt last night. It was like it settled in my joints, and I was in big time pain. This morning I have felt better, I went and got groceries and am putting them up a little bit at a time.

Anna (Jake's Girlfriend) spent the whole day with him yesterday so that kept him busy. I'm really glad because he would have been lonely. Leroy went and got her late last night and took her home.

Jake is getting out of the hospital today. They cut out his toenail and have been giving him those IV antibiotics, soaking his toe, etc. I will go get him in about an hour. One thing I hate is waiting at the hospital for someone to get out. I want them to have everything done and all I have to do is pick him up.

The kids are helping us straighten up the house. Leroy has been folding clothes, and I am working on the kitchen. I am going to make Dumplings tonight. My buddy Kindly Rat needs to make a trip down to Tampa and get him some.

Saturday, October 27

How could I have forgotten!!

Leroy got a GREAT new job making 3 more dollars an hour, full benefits, plus his foreman lives by us and he can ride to work with him every day and save gas!!!!!!

Now is that a BLESSING or what!!!!
Jake in the hospital

Well, they admitted him. Did minor surgery on his toe last night to get the toenail off and open up the infected area to drain and start healing. Then, they are giving him IV antibiotics. I'm glad we are getting it taken care of though! One thing after another around our house!

My new "once a week" shot comes by Fed Ex today! Wonder how the side effects will differ?

Other that all that, it's a chilly Saturday morning in Tampa, FL. Makes me wish I had already quite smoking, because I have to go outside to smoke.

I was extremely exhausted last night, but better today ;-)!!!

The Quarter -- What's YOUR Viking Name?

This is what it said about me:

Your Viking Name is...
Jódís Shadowsbane
(Well, actually, that wouldn't really be your name -- since you're female, your name would be something like "Jódís Björnsdottir". But this is the twenty-first century, and you want to be known for who you are, not for who your father was, right? Right.)

Your Viking Personality: You might have a Norse name, but you really don't have what it takes to be a true Viking. Unlike most Vikings, you don't have a quick temper; you tend to think about your actions before you undertake them. Sometimes you think too long. You might be able to hold your own on the battlefield, but you're no "berserker".

If you ever tried to make a voyage in a Viking longboat, you would die. Either from seasickness, or from your shipmates throwing you overboard into shark-infested waters. Vikings make fun of you all the time. Not always behind your back, either.

You have a fairly pragmatic attitude towards life, and tend not to expend effort in areas where it would be wasted. Other Vikings would be calling you "tree-hugging hippie peacenik" if the phrase had been invented.

Destiny Update

When she got home from the daycare yesterday, she was really ill!! High temp, lethargic. Jacob said her breath smelled bad so I look at her throat and it was VERY swollen, red, and had pus pockets (sorry) on her tonsils. I had called the Doc yesterday and they said if she was not better by today to bring her in. It was my intention to take her in this morning.

She had a low grade temp about midnight, but this morning she had no temp, was active, and the pus pockets were gone, swelling and reddness had gone down. The power of prayer!

Well, my piggie is gonna die. I have no more food or money online for him. I am pissed because the game is suppose to last for 7 days but he is 9 days old and I ran out of stuff to feed him. I will start again tomorrow, but I am very dissappointed!

They still have not called Leroy to start that job. I hope they hurry. I had to give Jake 55 dollars for his Driver's Ed class and temp licsense today. That had to come out of savings.

I got to the Liver Doc today and find out how my blood work looks on this medication. I know it kicks my butt! Some days are okay, so are not. I don't EVER have high energy, or feel romantic. I tried some Noni juice that Jacob's Girlfriend's mother gave me. It seems to work a little, but tastes SO bad, it is hard to take ;-)!

Jake has really settled down. I am so proud of him. He used to be such a player. He has made a big change since him and Anna have gotten together. He was always a good boy, but had girls coming out of his ears. I am happy for him.......and her ;-)!!!!

Destiny

Destiny had 103.8 temp night before last and kept throwing up. Leroy had to work at this lady's house yesterday and had an interview in the morning, so I (after being up half the night) had to take Destiny to the Doc. The tested her for strep throat but the initial test came out okay, they are waiting for the 48 hour one. In the meantime yesterday, I was SO exhausted I could not move when we got home from the Doctor's. I was hungry, but too exhausted to eat.

Last night she continued to have high temps, but I am going to have to give it another day before I take her back. I pray she gets better. I am very tired again today, but I will make it to work. Leroy got the job he interviewed for but does not know when he will start.

Monday, October 22

Ready for Bed

And it's just about 7 pm. Destiny is STILL sick. Tonight she threw up on the couch. If she has to go to the doctor, I hope it is when Leroy is still off work.

My piggie is up to almost 1,000 pounds! That Swine Online is really addictive. It's a lot of fun raising a virtual piggie.

I made homemade waffles and grits w/cheese for dinner. Leroy loved it. I haven't used the waffle iron for over a year LOLOLOL! Well, I'm gonna have to go take a bath and get some rest. As long as I get plenty of sleep I can make it through the day pretty good. I have a 7 a.m. breakfast fundraiser thing to go to in the morning. It is to raise money for a half way house for women getting out of jail. Wonderful cause!!!!

Nite, nite!
Quick Note

I think Leroy may have found another postion. We did do the sign up for unemployment benefits online last night, but he said he thinks he has this position with the company he is filling out an application with now. I certainly hope so.

I'm gettting back on track here at work after having been out, teaching that class, for a week. I have a busy afternoon, so I better get done with what I need to this morning! ;-)

Sunday, October 21

Quiet

Only Destiny and I are up. She's kind of sick. Sneezy, cough, slight temp, stuff nose. I'm going to have to go to Eckards and get her some over the counter medicine.

Leroy stepped on something last night and cut the shit out of his foot. Blood everywhere! I got the bleeding stopped and it rapped up and all, but when he went to get Jake from the game it started again. Before I got in the bathroom, when he had first cut it, he was just sitting there with some blood soaked TP letting it bleed on the tile floor. I got him to put it over the tub and applied pressure with a white wash clothe, got some peroxide on it, etc. Sometimes I wonder about him and what he would do if I wasn't there to take care of him.

I may make French Toast for breakfast. I can do a couple of things before the kids get up. I feel pretty good this morning. I usually do if allowed to sleep as long as I want, and can relax in the morning. :-(

Saturday, October 20

Dinner

Well, I made bean burritos, with refried beans, Velveeta Cheese, sour cream and lettuce, for dinner. I also made two sweet potatoe pies. Leroy LOVES 'tater pies.

I was able to get back on to Swine Online and Pooter (my pig) is still alive. He is up over 700 pounds now. You really need to play this game. It's a lot of fun!!

Jake is getting ready to go to the Hockey game, he worked all day in the house. Just finished the last of the laundry. Lot of help my teenage son. Don't know what I would do without him. I have read lots of blogs by teenagers who are getting high and doing Ecstasy, etc. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but right now Jake's main interest is female ;-). Must be the Snyder blood in him.

My pies should be cool by now. They smell great!!! Wish I had a digital camera......I'd take you a picture in smellavision ;-)!
The Economy

Well, Leroy got laid off his job yesterday. I like to believe that God closes one door, to be able to open another. I hope the other one open's fast, because it is the right around the holiday's, plus our bills are higher than just my income.

Jake went and spent the day with Anna (his girlfriend) and her family yesterday. They went to the movies in the evening. Georgie went to a Halloween party. Georgie will be going to Raymond James Stadium tonight and Jake is going to a Hockey game with one of his friends. In the mean time, they are all cleaning the house! I have to go get groceries soon.

This is the first Saturday Leroy hasn't worked in about 2 months and he has some stuff on his trailer that has to go to the dump and he is doing that today. The guy whose house he got the stuff from has to reimburse him for the dump fee. I hope he does it fast ;-)!

I had put Leroy a new TV and DVD player on layaway at K Mart for Christmas, but if he doesn't get a job by next week I will get the money back on it. We need your prayers. Leroy needs a job. The Lord will provide though!

My Piggy

I hate to start something and not be able to finish. I don't know what happened to Swine Online, but I am disappointed. I am pooped tonight as usual. I wish I had milk, I would make cereal for dinner!

My "desire" is not existant anymore, much to Leroy's dismay. He doesn't say anything though and I try to be nice every so often. It all must be the medication of course. Glad he is so understanding. Not all men would be!
Pig

I can't get to my pig at Swine Online . I got hooked on this game where you spend a week raising a pig, and now today I can't get to him to feed him. It keeps giving me an error message so I guess the server it's on is down, but I hope my piggie doens't die.

I'm at Hillsborough Community College teaching my noncustodial parents this week. They're kind of crazy ;-)
Don't wanna go.......

to work today............wanna curl up in bed and stay there. Warm, cozy.

Sunday, October 14

HI!!!!

Well today seems like a nice day. I'm not feeling too tired, and I think I will bake some bread. What I want to do is make that zuccinni bread that I have a recipe on here for, but I don't have any squash. I do have some bananas though, maybe I'll so something with those.

I bought the kids some hamburger patties yesterday, and Leroy and I some veggie patties, so that's what we are having I guess. Joy called yesterday, she's 7 1/2 months pregnant now. The other girl in their relationship is 5 1/2 months along. I still get tripped out just thinking about it. I took Jacob and Lee Lee to the doc Friday. Jake had a ingrown toe nail that got very inflected and he is on 875 mg Augmentin twice a day, Lee Lee has had problems with back pain for quite a while and they finally ordered some x rays.

George went to a birthday party at the skating rink yesterday. So things are pretty normal around here. I will be teaching my noncustodial parents life and job readiness skills next week. I can always sit down if I need to.

I managed to get Leroy's appt with the liver doc changed to be the same day as me. That way we can just do it together and I will know just what is up with him.

Everyone but me went to the Flea Market, so I think now would be a good time to get some stuff done!

Saturday, October 13

Movies

We went to see Training Day last night at the movies. I didn't like it. It made police look corrupt and showed the worst of human nature. My husband didn't like it either.

We had pizza, took all the kids, and Jake brought his girlfriend. The outting was nice in general though!

Linda gave me Jeff's Recipe

Zucchini Bread/Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Pam spray 2 loaf pans or 1 bundt pan
Into large mixing bowl combine:

3 eggs
2 cups sugar (brown is better or half of each)
1 cup vegetable oil (prefer canola oil)
2 cups zucchini, grated raw (food processor works great)
3 teaspoons vanilla (15 ml)
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt (5ml)
1 teaspoon baking soda (5ml)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3 teaspoons cinnamon (15ml)
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup raisins (or craisins)

Pour into prepared pans
Bake for 60 minutes
Set on wire rack 15 minutes
Turn bread/cake onto serving plate until cool
Store in airtight container

I like using a bundt pan because it holds the whole thing, uses one pan, is pretty, and easy to cut.

** Before sticking it in the oven I folded in a couple of beaten egg whites. Sounded like a good idea.

I skipped the beaten egg whites....I'm lazy...LOL
Tomorrow is Friday

I don't know if it is possible to get any more tired that I was today and still be able to function. I woke up as weak as a kitten. I had already started a pot of Navy beans yesterday, and I had Georgie make some corn bread, I'm gonna do some yellow rice and take my tired butt to bed. I can give children directions from there ;-)
What time is it?

The Cost Of Kids

I have seen repeatedly the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice, really nice!!!!

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up $160,140! That doesn't even touch college tuition. For those with kids, that figure leads to wild fantasies about all the money we could have banked if not for (insert your child's name here). For others, that number might confirm the decision to remain childless. But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into $8,896.66 a year, $741.38 a month, or $171.08 a week. That's a mere $24.44 a day! Just over a dollar an hour. Still, you might think the best financial advice says don't have children if you want to be "rich". It is just the opposite.

What do your get for your $160,140?

Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
Glimpses of God every day.
Giggles under the covers every night.
More love than your heart can hold.
Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
A hand to hold, usually covered with jam.
A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites, building sandcastles, and skipping down the sidewalk in the pouring rain. Someone to laugh yourself silly with no matter what the
boss said or how your stocks performed that day. For $160,140, you never have to grow up.
You get to finger-paint, carve pumpkins, play
hide-and-seek, catch lightning bugs, and never stop believing in Santa
Claus. You have an excuse to keep: reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh, watching Saturday morning cartoons, going to Disney movies, and wishing on stars.
You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.
For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck.
You get to be a hero just for retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, taking the training wheels off the bike, removing a splinter, filling the wading pool, coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless. You get a front row seat to history to witness the first step, first word, first bra, first date, and first time behind the wheel.
You get to be immortal.
You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren.
You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.
In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there with God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, so one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost.

ENJOY YOUR KIDS (and grandkids) !!!!!!

Work, and more work

Leroy had his biopsy yesterday, he was back to work today, and him and both boys are now out doing a side job. Cleaning and clearing four lots. I was back to work today, but didn't get much accomplished. I did cook a good dinner tonight. Whole wheat noodles and mushroom soup sauce with chopped broccoli, salad and bisquits.

Jamila (8) is washing dishes, and Lee Lee (6) is sweeping the dining room floor. The kids want me to bake cookies for Halloween, and I am going to try my best to have enough energy to do just that. I love to bake and do stuff for the kids! I haven't felt much like it lately, but I hope to get some energy back. A friend of mine was telling about this thing called Reiki, that is a transferal of energy. It probably sounds weird to you, but I am kind of open minded right about now.

Well, the little girls Lee Lee (6) and Destiny (3) are both bathed, I am going to give them all some store bought cookies and then it is off to bed! I need a hot bath and a soft bed ;-)!

Sunday, October 7

Rainy

We're having some showers here in usually Sunny Florida. We need it though!

Leroy is not feeling well today, but as much as he works it is bound to catch up with him sooner or later. All the kids are in the house watching TV, Georgie is playing the Play Station in his room. I have been up and down trying to do a little in the house, and rest some, as not to get too tired and not be able to get up at all. After my running around yesterday morning, I was not able to get up again the rest of the afternoon..

I haven't heard anything from Joy lately. I don't know what is up with that. No telling. Well, think I'll visit some of my regular blogs that I visit and see what some other folks have been up to.

Saturday, October 6

Saturday

Busy at work, busier at home......combined with this new medication therapy and this has been a crazy week! It's amazing how much a human being can endure ;-). I figure if I can give birth to 6 kids, I can do anything though!

Well, I have errands to run this morning. Have to go pay on the lay away at K Mart, deposit Leroy's check, go get groceries. Lee Lee and Jamila spent the night at their "Aunt" Lillie's (my best friend) house last night. It was her twin's birthday. Today at 4 pm, George and his "Kenly Soldiers" group are going to Orlando to one of the amusement parks there. I forget which. Jake went out to eat with his new girlfriend and her family last night. She has a very nice family. I really like her mother. I don't even know what time they got home last night ;-)!

I better go get dressed. I'm gonna give Jake another hour before I have to wake him up, so I can go. I may take George with me.

All is well

So far so good with my shots, etc. I took my second shot yesterday night and didn't have any real problems. It was hard to get up this morning, but what's new with that ;-). I had some nausea, but that's not new either. One thing good is that I seem to have lost a lot of my appetite. This is not a bad thing considering I was about 40 pounds over weight. A size 16. When I went to the Doc, I had already lost 5 pounds just from not eating meat. My tubby belly seems to be going down and that's great.

I want to quit smoking this month, and I think that may be possible. I think I'll give it a couple of weeks and see how I feel.

Fish

Just because I say we can get a fish, does not mean that I have the money to outfit the whole freakin' aqaruim right away. Jeezz, kids!
Early Morning

Actually it's not too early. After 8 a.m. Jamila and Lee Lee went to a sleep over Birthday party last night so I only have 3 kids in the house. Destiny had went to the party too, but she is too little yet for sleep overs that far from home. I can't believe how different it is to have only 3 children in the house. All are still sleeping! Leroy fell asleep in the Living room last night, so the only background noise I have as I type this is his snoring ;-). I have made my coffee, I can smell the slight aroma of hazelnut. I know the paper is out there, so in a few minutes I'll pad down the drive way in my bare feet to retrieve it.

Ahhhh, I just heard the pitter patter of little feet down the hallway. And there is Destiny! Dry too......no accidents last night......yeah!

Anyone for a breakfast burrito?

The Day after

Okay......I figured out how to do it and took my shot yesterday night. Expecting anything, because I have heard TONS of stuff on what the first shot does. I prayed for myself, which I usually do not do. And I had minimal sides effects so far. High temp, I slept through, Leroy said I was burning up, he gave me medicine. Hurt some this morning, but I am fixin' to take some Aleve.

I have found a wonder support group family on the Dephi forums, and I appreciate them! Well, I better find those Aleve!

Treatment

Well, I start my treatment for my cirrhosis tomorrow. There are suppose to be big side effects beginning after the first 5 hours so keep my in your prayers. I am just glad to be beginning. Chances are slim that it will work, but at least there is some chance! Also, the Doc said I have a Score of A in my cirrhosis of a possible A, B or C, C being that I would be needing a transplant. That's pretty good news too!

Hello Vaughn!
I have a headache

and my stomach doesn't really feel good either. I went back and helped the guys at HCC (noncustodial parents) do their "master applications this morming. Then, I went to the jail and spoke to a group of women in the Substance Abuse Class. Went back to work and knocked off a TON of email.

I'm out of carrots and apples, so no juice for me. I got pissed when I stopped the fruit stand and they wanted to sell apples 3 for a dollar, instead of 4 for a dollar, so I didn't get anything.

Jake is folding clothes, George is at a meeting for Kenly Little Soldiers, Jamila is at her friends house doing homework, Lee Lee just took a bath because she fell down and hurt her leg in the neighbor's yard, and Destiny is trying to get Jake to put in one of her VHS tapes. Leroy is still at work. He had a fender bender on the way this morning which made him late and he got a $90 ticket for improper changing lanes, but he had his blinker on and was changing and the guy tried to beat him. Oh well. He went to a cardioligist yesterday because he has been having chest pains, had an EKG, so far so good, but he has to have other tests.

I have to cook dinner. So what do you think I should cook, veggie and rice or veggies and pasta............

Urban Legends

My sister in California sent me a hoax story today about a virus being mailed to folks by snail mail. A human virus, LOLOLOL. I checked it out by emailing what was put down as the person who started it, and they sent me a link to where it said it was a hoax. I love proving those things wrong.

Well, I'm off to a mtg!

Monday, September 24

A quick note

Dinner (pancakes and scrambled eggs) is over, kids are clean and suppose to be in the bed. I went to the Dentist today and got my teeth cleaned. It sucked! I have two dead teeth, one right in front that the root has been broken on for about 20 years and the other off to the side. They are turning dark and the dentist wants to do a root canal on the one and take the other one out and do a bridge. I don't have the money for all that, even with dental insurance it would cost about $1,700. I have a small cavaty, but I want to wait til the beginning of the year to get it done. That way I will have my deductable paid for all year.

Work is consuming and it was all I can do just to get through the TON of work related email today. I have to do a couple of web pages for the website. I need to add an icon at the top of CDC's website, but I don't really know how, and don't think I have a good enough graphics software to make it match the rest. I could REALLY use help and/or suggestions!!!

So far, so good

Coffee is made and in the process of being consumed. The three girls were up early watching cartoons, they are eating fruit loops and english muffins now. Teeth all brushed and faces washed. Paper is on the table waiting for me.

Georgie got up, but was acting unpeaceful.....so I sent him back to bed to try again. Told him to come back out when he thought he had settled down some. Next step is to get beds made and rooms straighten though. Get dressed, and then back to get another cup of coffee and see what's in the paper.

Leroy is working AGAIN today. He gets off at 10 though hopefully, but has to go do some lawn maintenance which is his side business. I will stay home and try to get some stuff done around here. He will probably take the boys. If I am feeling perkier, I might even try to go and help. As it is, I just coordinate the work, schedule, do the billing, etc.

Well......now to check my email!

That link was found at the site of my my Cowgirl buddy in California. Here site can be found at Black and Blue.
I've been visiting this site for quite a while. It was one of the first web logs I visited. He has a link in my "Visit Often" section, but I wanted to add one more so you would not miss his latest links! Visit The Ultimate Insult - The Smurfiest site to ever Smurf a Smurf! and laugh!
Might as well know what we are talking about. CIA -- The World Factbook -- Afghanistan

Link found at haidi.org. Everyone has their own opinions I guess. Not my business to express my disdain for anyone's here.
Fruits and Veggies

You know what I really need to do is learn how to make little sauces or something for noodles. It's kind of hard planning meals without meat. Guess I will go get the cook books down and see what they have to say. If I can just get the general idea, I can go from there. I think I have lost a little bit of weight. That is just an extra that comes along with it.

The kids and I did some light cleaning on the house this morning. Leroy is working. Then, we went to Taco Bell. George had one $5 worth of coupons at his Luau last night. He is a part of the Hills. Co. Rec Center's Little Soldier's program and they had a BIG party at the park last night. He bought all his sisters and brother something. You can do that with $5 at Taco Bell ;-). We went by my job and dropped of some of the training stuff I had in my van, and then went to the flea market where they have the cheapest fruits and veggies.

I got up at 5 a.m. to make Leroy breakfast and lunch and then went back to sleep and slept 'til after 9. It was kind of hard getting up this morning, but everything is running smoothly now.

I find myself in tears over the patriotic songs. Jake told me he wanted to enlist when he turns 18. I just can't see it. I wonder if there will be a draft by then. I guess I shouldn't project too much. I need to stick to one day at a time.

America: A Tribute to Heroes
TGIF

I've been messing around on the forums. Lots of good stuff. There are quite a few I like. I'm glad it's the weekend. Ready for a rest.

I bought the book "The Prayer of Jabez" today. I've been hearing a lot about it. I'll let you know how it is. Well, I haven't eaten yet, time for some carrot juice!

Play With Meeeee!!!
Acceptance

I took off work today to take the kids, Lee Lee and Georgie, to the Dentist. I left work at about 12:45. I plan on going back and doing my jail outreach starting tomorrow, so I also had to go by the court house and get the paperwork stating that my case had been dropped. I figured I would go by and get the kids first, go by the house and get the dental cards, go downtown and get the paperwork I need, take the kids to the dentist and be through.

Every step took a LONG time, escpecially trying to find parking downtown, then they had lost my records downtown and I almost never got out of there. From where I was to get to the dentist there was no quick way, especially since I really didn't know where the office was and had to take the long way. We finally got there almost a half hour late, but that part is okay, because the assholes were redecorating the office and there was no dentist there. They said they had called twice and left messages and that is a bunch of doo doo. Then she said she could reschedule us. Do I have to tell you what I told her?

After I finally got back on my side of town after 4 p.m., all I could do was SIT DOWN. I don't feel bad today though. I don't feel good, but I don't feel bad, and that is good enough for me. All that running around had wore me down, but I went to a 6 pm meeting and it was a cure all :o)! Georgie had cooked eggs for dinner by the time I had gotten home, I gave them cottage cheese and applesauce when I got here so all went well with that. Now Destiny is crying because Jamila won't help her take off her dress to take a bath, and the house is upside down. That's okay with me ;-).

I will go back into the jail tomorrow. I never thought I would. But you see that is God's plan for my life. Sharing my experience, strenghth and hope. God Bless you.........whoever you are reading this post. I hope you are well and life is treating you gracefully. God is love, and all is well.

Not good

I really don't feel well. I think I am getting a cold, or maybe it's the freakin' Hep C, I don't know. I always feel like I have a temp. My throught is all clogged up in the morning and I sneeze a little. Work is stressful, with tons of stuff to do and not enough time to do it in. The kids have pretty much all been acting up, and I just generally don't feel well.

Leroy and I got into an arguement last night. He says I treat George and Jamila "special" and he said it in front of all the kids. My back hurts, I want my carrot juice and don't feel like making it. I JUST FLAT DON'T FEEL GOOD.

Sunday, September 16

Dinner

Lemon Pepper Baked Chicken, Angel hair pasta with herbs, Stuffing, tomatoes and cucumbers in Italian dressing, bisquits, applesauce. I'm pooped now. Totally out of steam!
GREAT weekend

Well I spent a great weekend with my girls. We cleaned, went shopping, planted plants, bought a new table clothe and kitchen towels, and burner covers. They are outside eating freeze pops now on this beautiful day in September. I have had quite a bit of energy and have taken advantage of it. The boys have been working with their Daddy all weekend on a man's yard. Georgie (9 years old) made $45, Jake made $80, and I don't know what Leroy made but he gave me $40 to shop with and that is what I used to buy the new kitchen stuff. I also bought thingys to put the VHS tapes in. We have a ton! They were stuffed in a cabinent on the entertainment center. Now at least 80 of them are organized! We really need some paper/cardboard covers for some of them and we could write on that what they are. Lots have lost their covers as time as went by..

I put a new TV and DVD player on lay away at K Mart for Leroy for Christmas. He has really been wanting one, so he's gonna get it ;-). That will be for our bedroom and we will give either Jake or the girls the one we have in their now. I hope Jake buys himself a little TV with the money he made this weekend though!

Well, I am making the family chicken tonight and need to get started! I want a glass of carrot juice too while I am in there. It's early bed time tonight in preparation for the work week and school.

Hope your weekend went well!

Peaceful Night

I just got back from a meeting, having some carrot, peach & apple juice that I juiced myself. Leroy took the kids to Blockbuster (yes, at this time of night), and I have a few minutes of calm.

Leroy brought home a tall shelf for plants from the job he did today. I've put it on the front porch in front of the window. I like to see plants out side of the window and it also partially blocks the view into the house from the outside. I am one of those people who have to raise the shades every morning and when it gets dark it is easy to see in the house. Our dinner table is right inside that window and folks look in while we eat ;-). So, one evenings we are a little slow to shut the blinds the view will be partially blocked and we will get to see pretty plants outside the window.

Have a nice night! I'm off to take a hot, oily bath.

Pissed

While I was doing my last post, Lee Lee went in the laundry room and poured bleach on all the clothes that were in there. It's not like she doesn't know better. Then, I told her to go to her room, while I was trying to salvage stuff, and when I came out, she was in the freakin' livingroom watching cartoons!!!! Now try to keep your serenity with that shit going on!

I just thank God, I'm not a drinker anymore. My temper has cooled considerably.
Up and at 'em!

You've never heard that before, have you? Well, Leroy and the boys have gone to do a side job. One thing for sure, those boys will know the value of hard work. The girls and I are going to the grocery store and the drug store. Started out slow this morning, but I'm perking up. It's still cool and breezy outside. A left over from the storm. Leroy will be working probably all this week end helping folks clean up. No AC needed again today! That is unusual for September in Tampa, FL.

You know I talk about AC, but what I haven't said is that this is the first place I have really had as an adult with Central Heat and Air. I remember it being so hot at night in the summer time that I used to wet towels and put them over the kids to keep them cool at night. This will be our 6th Christmas here. We moved in Dec 7, 1996. I love our little home. God has blessed us!

Calm after the Storm

Branches are everywhere, some trees are down, but overall we did well. I don't know if we are going to get any more of the back lash, but right now it is calm and overcast. We were able to have the AC off today, and open some windows. Got quite a bit of house work done, so as I look around things are in order. I took a brief nap, maybe 15 minutes, before the phone rang.

I spent some time earlier reading some accounts of the Attack. I think I will go to the Hep C Forum and see what is up.

Storm

Well the next door neighbor's tree fell down. Just by the grace of God it fell the only way that would not have hit their house, the car, or blocked the road. There are BIG gusts of wind. Up to 50 mph they say. My best friend, Lillie, who lives about 1/2 block away has lost her electricity due to her neighbor's tree falling.

We just watched the memorial service in Washington D.C. for the victims of the Attack On America. Billy Graham did the service with a Catholic Priest and an African American Minister coming up before him. It was 'real'. I have chosen not to comment on the tragedy. It is really too much for me to express opinion on. I'm just sad. For everyone concerned.

The kids are watching Emperor's New Groove on tape, and it is hard to believe that our satellite reception is still on. Funny through tragedies of all kinds, life goes on.
Back home!

Okay, I've gone to the grocery store and gotten supplies for the storm day ;-). It's funny.....I woke up at 5 a.m. this morning and felt good. Usually it takes all I have to get up in the morning, and yesterday I was dead......but this morning I felt fine. Got soaked going to the store, the wind is really picking up too.

I got Chocolate Chips for Georgie to make cookies. Plenty of fruit, cereal, water, etc. I am going to cook while I can, we may loose electricity. Hope your day is good ;-)!
Hurricane or Tropical Storm

Either one is rough, but it is coming through. All the schools are closed today, and I will be staying home. I really have to get to the grocery store first thing this morning though. Rain or no rain. The storm is suppose to be at full force at 2p.m. At least that's what it said last night. I'm going now to check on the news.

America Morns
HI!

I have chosen not to post much this week. Our tragedy has effected me, along with the classes that I am teaching that ALWAYS wears me out! Nice group of young men this time. A bit more realistic and they seem to be able to see more long term than some of the classes. I have a few concerns, but none that could not be worked out.

Well, again it is time to get the girls up........and get on with my day. I feel better than usual....I took one of Leroy's Claritin's last night. I don't know why allergy pills taken at night would make me feel better in the morning. I don't have allergy's. Maybe it helps me sleep better or something........oh well, long as it works. They cost too much to take all the time though ;-), and I don't have my own 'script for them.

Negativity

Leroy spends more and more time outside, maybe he always did, I don't know. It just seems like I need him more in the evenings now to help me with the kids, and he chooses to be outside talking to which ever man in the neighborhood is out there. So when I need him, he's not there. Then, first thing in the morning he want to bring up that Leighanne was across the street on a neighbor's porch putting dry dog food from the floor on the porch into the dog's water. I indicated that that is NOT the way I want to start the morning. He wasn't here to deal with problems last night, and I don't want to start my day with negative issues. Now "I" am accused of being self center. "I" who get up at 5:30 each morning to prepare his breakfast and lunch. "I" who make sure dinner is made even when sometimes it is all I can do to stand up. I work a full day just like he does.

When I went outside yesterday he told me that his recent supervisor was a good guy. This is the same man he had been having problems with. I indicated to him, when he was having the issues with the supervisor, that maybe if he would attempt to look at the situation differently he may see something differently.

His attitude sucks lately. Of course, some of this could be explained by the emotional strain of finding how just how far progressed my liver damage was, and of course me attending several AA mtgs a week, but I am having to deal with these issues just like he is. If he is not part of the solution, he is part of the problem. If anything I need a little help now, where maybe I didn't before.

He goes to the Liver Doc today to see how he is. I go to court. If you don't know what I am talking about with the court thing, read the last half of May and start on June.

Well, today is picture day at school, and I have to do the girl's hair.

Monday, September 10

Monday, Monday

I am teaching my class of noncustodial parents this week. As I have spoken of before I teach them, job readiness and life skills. This time I am making sure that I try to get them to get tested for Hep C. They are strong, young men and if they got tested now they would have time to make certain life style changes that could contribute to their long term health.

In the meantime, this class is wearing me out! It is always makes me tired, but I am really feeling it this time ;-).

We are having Tuna Helper tonight and I am adding Broccoli (how ever that is spelled). I don't know if I want to eat though.

Sunday, September 9

Dinner

Okey Dokey, you can find out all about our Beef Sausage Dinner if you want to. George helped me cook again as usual. He made the Oatmeal cookies and the corn bread. Every thing is cooking right now. The whole dinner only takes about 45 minutes and that includes cutting veggies for the salad and all. Little by little I will start replacing my meat with firm veggies like eggplant, broccoli, etc. They say all raw veggies are the way to go, but I have to take it slow ;-).

I'm going to bed early tonight ;-)
News about Joy

Well........Joy has been in touch on a pretty regular basis. Last time we talked, the asshole cussed and hung up the phone. I called back. I am sorry Joy has to go through what she is going through, but she will never learn otherwise I guess. Hard Head! Later on she will regret this decision so badly and it will bring so much pain to her. It is SO sad. I screwed up so much shit when I was young, and now I get to sit back and watch my daughter do the same freakin' dumb ass stuff.

Dinner is simple tonight. I will put it on my dinner page ;-)
Good

Last night when I tried it the carrot juice tasted kind of weird, but this morning it tastes good! About 4 carrots and an apple. Getting the kids to like it is another story. I just have to keep giving it to them like I do with other Veggies and stuff. Now I am a meat and potatoes girl, so this is all kind of weird to me........but we do what we have to do ;-).

Leroy went yesterday to help a friend and is not home yet. The truck hub blew off one time, then next time I talked with him they had fixed that and were about a hundred miles away going to pick up a transmission for the other guys truck, then at 4:30 a.m. I called him and they were outside of Gainesville coming back this way. I have no idea where he is now, but I am starting to get worried.
Carrot Juice

Bought me a juicer yesterday and am starting to do the juice thing. I have to start making some changes in my diet if I expect to live for any lenghth of time. At least I can do that. Little by little I am going to start cutting out all red meat and pork. Fun, Fun!

Saturday, September 8

Dinner Page

Okay I did some editting. I am not finished yet, but if you click on the link to the right-----where it says "What's for Dinner, Jamie" you will find the results of my morning work on this section. Had to redo the whole page but that's okay! Anything for YOU!
An Award

Well someone gave me an award for this site, but we must keep in mind that the template was done by a great talent at Point of Focus. I am an beginner who really enjoys this, but I want to make sure folks get credit. Also....my buddy Daniel did my heading for me. I just talk and add tons of stuff I like ;-).

I need more coffee now, and maybe a couple of Aleve ;-)

Friday, September 7

Night, Night

Well, most of today has been a good day. I am tired now, but I deserve to be. I gave a full day's work, got home, let the kids run me crazy, went to church and now I will do some posting, some reading, take a nice hot, oily, bath and hit the sack.

Leroy is with a friend helping him move his truck or something. I don't get as upset as I used to when he stays out with friends. It's not like he's messing with women. He needs his space too. I like to go to meetings, church and mess with my computer......he likes to help folks, work in the shed, fix cars, etc. I guess we are pretty normal. Comfortable. OH........and guess what happened last night?!?!?!? I'm not telling ;-)!
Okey Dokey

And everyone is ready and off they goooooo.......of course Jamila could not find her shoes til the last minute. Now all I have to do is take the little curlers out of my bangs and I'm gone too ;-)!
First cup of coffee.....

If I can just get this first cup of coffee down, I will have it made. DID NOT want to get up this morning. Have made Leroy's breakfast and a couple of sandwiches for him for lunch. Boys are up and ready, now it is time to get the girls up. Jamila (8) picks out her own clothes now, and does her own thing except for her hair. Soon I will take a picture of that child's hair and let you know what I have to deal with! I have to do most everything for Lee Lee, but her hair is not that hard to do. I have to dress Destiny still, she can basically do it, but it always ends up backwards and inside out. Isn't that weird? I wonder what the odds are of clothes ALWAYS ending up backwards and inside out.

I have not heard from my friend Daniel in a while. I guess he's a big shot Microsoft Technician now and doesn't have time for his blogger buddy ;-)!!! I'm teasing of course. I have met such wonderful folks on the Internet. One, I had talked to for years, Al, he is an older man who lives up North. Anyway.....I have not heard from him in a while and I am worried. Seems like if you have friends online, and something should happen to you.....a person should instruct their family how to inform those friends. Are we any less friends because we don't see each other in person, I think not. In a lot of cases you even share more with your Internet friends. I'm not sure why ;-).

Well I have been typing 10 minutes and I have girls to work with. Hope your day is good. I'm starting out slow........like a train (I like trains)......but I am going to pick up steam soon ;-)!

Thursday, September 6

Hectic Life.......FOR REAL

Yesterday we had a fund raising luncheon for my job (which is with a nonprofit organization for those who don't know). It was great but totally wore me out and all I did was show folks to their seats. I am extremely busy at work and that is not too bad a thing. I like my job, on good days. In the afternoons, I really can't think clearly enough to get much done though ;-)!!

Well, I am off to a meeting. They put me on this Policy Board for Head Start. I know I will not be able to attend much, but I have to do my community thing ;-)!

I have to fix all these pages Saturday or Sunday. My background and banner is gone from my photosite, but that's okay, I'll fix it. Also my dinner page is messed up. Have to work on it and add a dinner someone sent me ;-). Want to try to get some sun too before I go on my medication. They say it makes you not be able to tolerate sun.

Anyway.............see ya'!!!!!!

Tuesday, September 4

From A Friend

Another day is passing and I'm going crazy. The kids are acting nuts and if I can get through without burying one in the back yard I will be okay. My back hurts, and I am tired, but mentally I feel okay. Work was busy and I got NOTHING done. Tomorrow is our BIG fundraising luncheon.

Georgie baked a chocolate cake and I want to eat the whole thing BAD!!! With Milk.......

Monday, September 3

Good Mornin' , Mornin'

Hello Sunshine, Wake up Sleepy head. Why did we move that Bojangle Clock so far away from the bed. Just one more minute, that's why we moved it, one more hug or two. Do you love waking up next to me, as much as I love wakin' up next to you.

Sunday, September 2

Brighter Day

I am so encouraged. I contact the web master of the best Hep C site and she sent me the most encouraging email. I feel really great about it!! I will put more detail on the 12 step site as I am trying to keep my regular stuff here separate from my Cirrhosis and AA stuff.

Anyway........Dinner was steak, corn on the cob, and Rice a Roni (the San Fransico treat!). My Girls are bathed, hair washed and smelling good, Leroy stained the trim on the shed today, and I rested quite a bit. Watched the dumbest movie I ever saw. Forgot the name.

I'm happy!!

Slept In This Morning

Destiny has had a temp for the since Friday night. Guess her "Periodic Fever Syndrone" is kicking in. I got up at 5 a.m. and gave her Tylenol, and was even able to sleep until 9 a.m. myself today. I would really like to go to Hillsborough River State Park today and take the kids on a nature walk. I don't want to go if Leroy won't go though, so we will have to see.

I have to go grocery shopping this morning too! Dang we eat a lot around here!
