~~~ Candy Recipe ~~~
*********************************
(I got this in an email from one of the Members of the Garden of Friendship)
White Chocolate Fudge
1 (8oz.) package cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. white chocolate, melted
1 1/2 cups pecans (or walnuts or macadamia nuts)
Beat cream cheese, sugar & vanilla in large mixing bowl at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. Gradually add chocolate; mix well.
Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 8 inch square pan. Chill several hours.
NOTE: you can also use 3/4 c. nuts & 3/4 c. dried apricots or other dried fruit.
Well............I guess I had no takers for my dirty house huh?? LOLOLOL
I did manage to get all my bills put in Quicken correctly. There are a lot of them! I want to try to get on a debt reduction plan. First, I have to get my husband, Leroy, to give up his and to live within our means.
At least with all this stuff done, I can probably get my school work done. I have 3 papers to write before the class even starts. I managed to get 2 of the school books ordered from the Library and I only had to buy one, so that is a plus. I have a movie to watch for one. She gave us a choice of 3, and I found two at the Library.
Destiny is hooked on Mary Poppins. I think she has watched it 10 times.
Georgie has 2 of his crew spending the night, and Jamila is spending the night at "Aunt Lillie's" house. Lee Lee has been with Daddy (Leroy) all day working on the church grounds.
I cooked Fettucini Hamburger Helper and Corn on the Cob.
Tonight I might be able to get some of the TON of clothes in the chair in the bedroom put away. We have all the clothes washed and piled on one of the couches in the living room.
I rearranged the dining room (where my computer is) to give me more space, and I fixed all my files in my file cabinent.
Not bad, huh?
Okay, I need HELP! I have a DIRTY house, and I need volunteers...................ASAP!!! Email right away, I will give you directions.
I believe....
I believe- that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are, but we are
responsible for who we become.
I believe- that no matter how good a friend is, they're
going to hurt you every once in a while and you must
forgive them for that.
I believe- that just because someone doesn't love you
the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love
you with all they have.
I believe- that true friendship continues to grow, even
over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I believe- that it's taking me a long time to become the
person I want to be.
I believe- that you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I believe- that you can keep going, long after you can't.
I believe- that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.
I believe- that either you control your attitude or
it controls you.
I believe- that heroes are the people who do what has
to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I believe- that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I believe- that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.
I believe- that sometimes the people you expect to
kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help
you get back up.
I believe- that sometimes when I'm angry I have the
right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right
to be cruel.
I believe- that maturity has more to do with what
types of experiences you've had and what you've
learned from them and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.
I believe- that it isn't always enough to be
forgiven by others. Sometimes you have
to learn to forgive yourself.
I believe- that no matter how bad your heart
is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I believe- that just because two people argue, it
doesn't mean they don't love each other And just
because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
I believe- that you shouldn't be so eager to find out
a secret. It could change your life forever.
I believe- that two people can look at the exact same
thing and see something totally different.
I believe- that your life can be changed in a matter
of hours by people who don't even know you.
I believe- that even when you think you have no
more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you
will find the strength to help.
I believe- that credentials on the wall do not make
you a decent human being.
I believe- that the people you care about most in life
are taken from you too soon.
I'm a sick puppy.
I really have to get my office at work and my home work area more organized. I have stuff spilling on to the floor now at home the piles are so high, and that is only a weeks worth of backed up stuff.
Wonder when the blogger article is going to be in the St. Pete Times??? Mmmmmmmmm.....guess I'll email the newspaper fella'.................. The photographer that came out here was a nice guy. Anyone that couple put up with my 4 youngest kids for any time at all is a saint. Are my children wild? Yes, they are.
13 Credits
I wonder if that's bad luck.........LOLOLOL!!! That's what I am taking my first semester at Springfield College. I really want to get this done and over with. I am transferring 40 credits from Hillsborough Community College and hope to get 30 credits for life learning etc. I have to have 120 credits to graduate so that leaves, so if I can get the whole 30 credits for life skills, etc, that only leaves me with 50 credits to get. Now if I take 13 for this fall that leaves me with 37, I can take at least 12 in the Spring, and that leaves 25. I don't know about Summer classes, but I know this..................I can get this over a lot faster in this school than I can anywhere else. It looks easy so far, and there are NO TESTS. That is AWESOME!!!! Maybe I can CLEP out of a couple of things too.
So I will have my little piece of paper, then what?!?!?!?!>>>>>>>>>>>>....................................
Well, the photographer will be here this morning to take a picture of the article on blogging in the St. Pete Times. Wonder if he has a "skinny" lens.......................LOLOLOLOL
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr
rgggggggggggggggggkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back to the office today! So much work, it is ridiculous! I am just NOT as organized as I once was. I hate that!!!
I am trying to get all my stuff together to be able to start back to school next month. The way I figure it, I can have my BA by the time Jake has his HS Diploma, but if I can't even keep up with the folder they gave me...............how can I do anything else!
I did resign as Secretary of my A.A. home group. That's one less thing to do. I finally found Jake a Spanish tutor on Monday and Thursdays at the same time Leighanne will already be at the same building for her tutoring. Since it is closer to my job than here, and I have to leave work at 4 to get her and take her, then I will be going back to work 'til after 6. If I get home by 6:45, that gives me a VERY short time to cook, get folks bathed, and get to be by 9.
So it goes like this:
Monday: Jake and Lee Lee to tutoring
Tuesday: Leighanne to tutoring, Me to the jail to do my AA meeting
Wednesday: Church
Thursday: Jake and Lee Lee to tutoring.
Friday: Mmmmmmmmmm, do I actually have a free evening.........
Saturday: Clean house in the morning, yard work in the afternoon.
Sunday: Church, and yes, that's right, say it..................REST!!!!! YES!!! Yes Yes Yes
ACTS
Rev. Perry has been going through the book of Acts since we have been going to church there, and he always asks questions as he goes along.
Well, this week, I am going to study the missionary journeys of Paul and next week, I will know the answers! LOLOLOLOL
I'm cooking Sirloin Steak, think will do some potatoes, and corn, maybe bisquits.
Hot or Not?
I see my rating have gone WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY down.............LOLOLOL. Well, I guess this blog is not for everyone, but then I never meant it to be. I mean who wants to actually hear about my opinion of Pine Sol. How much I prefer the Lemon scent to the Pine scent. How slippery it is when the floor is wet, and a 9 year old is feeding the Iguana, and she's (the Iguana) is getting out of the cage, and the 9 year old screams, and a 42 year old mother runs down the freshly mopped hallway, slipping......................feet flying straight up in the air, landing on butt and back.
I hurt.
Good Mornin'!
Jake went to the movies last night after he got the lawn mowed. Leroy was gone again until 10 o'clock helping someone else with their lawn.
My buddy Kindly Rat sent me some Suppernog seeds from Northern Florida. Funny guy, Kindly Rat, I've known him about a year now and I don't even know his real first name, nor have I ever seen a picture of him. Of course, I have only known him online and I assume he is cautious. Unlike some of us (namely me) who tell all..........................LOLOLOL
BIG SALE
At K Mart in Brandon, FL.!!! I got a Canon PowerShot A 20 for 99 dollars!!!!!! It was 75 % off!!! Can you believe that? Regular price $399, I got it for $99. Oh yes, oh yes.
Now let me see how many pics I can take with 8 mg and this lower quality picture I chose. I'm excited though.
I had been using the one from work for work stuff and if I had it already at home, of course, I would use it, but now I have my OWN!!! La la la la la la.................................
Time
I am teaching the Job Readiness Training to the noncustodial parents this week. A great class of young men. I will admit though that teaching that class TOTALLY exhausts me.
Today, though, I have to go the the dentist and get a root canal, so Karen (at work) is taking over for me and doing the practice mock interviews.
I don't want to go.......................
Okay you will find the pictures there. You can go into the picture section and be surprized. Tell me..............who do you see????
Girls' Hair
Piles of it!!! Didn't I mention something about piles yesterday? Well, here's another example. If you don't believe me go to my family description page, you'll see. Anyway.............I tried to take them to Fantastic Sams. They wanted 35 dollars a head for straight back braids (french braids). I can't do it. I'll get a neighbor girl to do it. 15 bucks a head.
I have to go help Leroy do the church property. All I have to do is ride the mower!!!!
Bills and other snail mail...........
Does anyone else have a pile almost 12 inches high at the end of the week to go through? We stay pretty busy during the week, and if I don't go through the mail every single day, it PILES up..............same thing with email of course. Same thing with clean laundry, I can get it washed but folding is another story. Piles of stuff, clothes, mail, trash, weeds (if I would pull them), kids, dog doo doo, iguana skin, dishes......................
I need some help with the house. Don't you think if Leroy is going to work side jobs and make extra money, that he should give me an extra 50 or 75 dollars to get someone in to help with the house. It's not like I don't work full time, now I have to take Lee Lee to tutoring four times a week, we have Awanas and church on Wednesday nights, I go into the jail for out reach on Tuesdays, and once a month on Thursdays there is 4 - H. That's not counting things that just pop up. Jake can't help anymore, he works all the time on weekends, and nights like tonight he is "out". I guess I HAVE to let him out sometimes, but I need HELP in this house! MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe if I got off the computer..............................
Mmmmmmmmmm..............
MELBOURNE, Australia -- Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so
ticked-off when two thugs raped her 18-year-old
granddaughter that she tracked the unsuspecting ex-cons down and
shot off their testicles.
The old lady spent a week hunting those men down -- and when she
found them, she took revenge on them in her own special
way,- said Melbourne police investigator Evan Delp. Then she took a
taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the
sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be: "Those bastards
will never rape anybody again, by God." Cops say
convicted rapist and robber Davis Furth, 33, lost both his penis and
his testicles when outraged Ava opened fire with a 9-mm
pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison cellmate Stanley
Thomas, 29, were holed up. The wrinkled avenger also
blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but doctors managed to save
his mangled penis, police said. The one guy, Thomas,
didn't lose his manhood, but the doctor I talked to said he won't be
using it the way he used to, Detective Delp told reporters.
Both men are still in pretty bad shape, but I think they're just
happy to be alive after what they've been through.
The Rambo Granny swung into action June 21 after her granddaughter
Debbie was carjacked and raped in broad daylight by
two knife-wielding creeps in a section of town bordering on skid
row. "When I saw the look on my Debbie's face that night in
the hospital, I decided I was going to go out and get those bastards
myself 'cause I figured the Law would go easy on them,"
recalled the retired library worker. "And I wasn't scared of them,
either -- because I've got me a gun and I've been shootin' all
my life. And I wasn't dumb enough to turn it in when the law changed
about owning one."
So, using a police artist's sketch of the suspects and Debbie's
description of the sickos', tough-as-nails Ava spent seven days
prowling the wino-infested neighborhood where the crime took place
till she spotted the ill-fated rapists entering their flophouse
hotel. "I knew it was them the minute I saw 'em, but I shot a
picture of 'em anyway and took it back to Debbie and she said
sure as hell, it was them," the oldster recalled. "So I went back to
that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door --
and the minute the big one, Furth, opened the door, I shot 'em right
square between the legs, right where it would really hurt
'em most, you know. Then I went in and shot the other one as he
backed up pleading to me to spare him. Then I went down
to the police station and turned myself in."
Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal
with the vigilante granny. What she did was wrong, and she
broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in
prison. Det. Delp said. Especially when 3 million people in
the city want to nominate her for sainthood and a medal.
Nite Nite
Lee Lee's tutoring went great. The teacher that is there, really keeps things in check. She told me she though Lee Lee was probably almost up to par on reading, but has a severe problem in math. Her main problem, of course, is her inability to stay focused. I suppose that has something to do with her being SO premature.
The kids started 4 - H tonight. They meet at the Church (Emmanuel Baptist) where we go in Thonotosassa. Leroy is working on the church grounds right now. A LOT of work!
Jake is going to be picked up at school by a LIMO. He is in the "IN" crowd. Must be nice LOLOLOLOL. Anyway, one of his friend's is having a party and 4 of the boys will be picked up by a Limo and they are going to drive to different places and then show up at the party by 7.
Funny.............I was always kind of a weird child in school. Different, I guess. I'm still different, but it's okay now. I started screwing up early in life too. I am totally honest with my children, and Jake, at least, seems to be learning from my mistakes. Wow, can you believe it? Someone actually pays attention to me.
I want another boy (don't tell anybody). A baby boy. Do you think that's strange? I love babies.............
Tutoring
Now, back to the real world. I FOUND TUTORING FOR LEIGHANNE!! Free turoring of course. They have had it at one of the CDC of Tampa's centers for quite a while but Lee Lee needed to be in second grade. Guess what? Yep, she qualifies! Now maybe we can make it through this grade.
The school system is really messed up. She has been evaluated twice, but just doesn't qualify for their programs. She can't even read. Well, I have got help now, Praise God. I'll go pick her up at 4 and sign her up.
I'm getting all of the kids in 4-H this evening. Cool, huh?
Guess What!!!!!
I'm gonna be a star! LOLOLOLOL. I got an email from a guy with the St. Petersburg Times, Dave Gussow, Personal Technology Editor. He wanted to know about Blogging. I probably talked too much like I usually do!
The question is: Why do we Blog........................why do I blog.......Number one, it's a release, isn't it? Then, maybe someone will read this and know they are not alone. That I, too, have a husband who is a workaholic, that I, too, have teenager problems, that I , too, am a nut case...ROFLMAO
Hey, email me and give me a graphic and I will link to your page from my links page and from here. Who knows, we may get a lot of hits from this....................That's another questions.......................Why do we want hits? Someone will have to help me on that one!
Stressful morning, Lee Lee waited til now to get dressed, can't find shoes, Destiny crying about her hair. I think I will take some vitamins.
Dumplin's
I made my friend Kindly Rat's favorite tonight. Chicken and dumplin's! I'm mad at Leroy. He promised me last week that he would go to church with me tonight, but instead he wanted to work. Now it is storming so badly that he can't work and I don't like to drive in a storm, if I can avoid it.
He took Jake to his girlfriend's church, but none of us are going.
Plus, he helped some guy on the Interstate and then left his cell phone on his bumper. So now he went to try to find it, and took Georgie with him. Georgie was washing dishes at the time he left.
I guess I can't be in a perfect mood all the time. Monday, I had a root canal, and I have felt like all day I have had a low grade fever. I am taking antibiotics and perscription Ibeprofin.
Leroy worked on some kid's car for two nights until after midnight, and the kid only gave him $15. It's not the money. I know he likes to help people, but folks take advantage of him sometimes.
Boy, I'm sniveling tonight..........
My template is missing LOLOLOL
AA meeting in jail
Awesome meeting last night in jail. I don't know if I told you, but I am taking an AA meeting into the jail on Tuesday nights. Last night was GREAT! One of my core group of women is getting out today. Pray for her. She really wants to overcome her problems. I think I gave her some tools. She is suppose to call me as soon as she hits the streets. I'm hoping she does.
Tuesday, August 13
I'm going back to school!
I found a college where I can transfer my community college credits, get credit for life skills and be able to take about 18 credits a semester. You only have to go on weekends! Sometimes only 8 hours for one class. I can actually FINISH at the same time Jacob graduates!
Cool!
Hi World
I have invited half the world to Church for the baptism Sunday. I'm really excited about it. More news to come..............
Sunday, August 11
Today
We went to the church today. The kids and I went to Sunday School and Leroy came for church. It was nice. The Pastor talked about the Holy Spirit in Sunday school and how the folks got the Holy Spirit before Baptism. He also said if a person is saved, they don't have to be Baptisted to make it to Heaven. He was talking about the order in which things happen. He did that yesterday too when he came over to talk to George and Jamila about getting saved. I had told him on the phone that they had wanted to be saved, and he came right over. Anyway..................the Church Service was out of Acts again. He has been on Acts ever since we started going there. So, at the end of the service, George and Jamila went up to say they wanted to be Baptised. It was neat!
I saw a young lady there who looked like she could use some of the clothes I have been carrying around in the back of my van for over a month, and I gave them all to her. It was good for her and me too. I don't like to give to thrift stores who resell them so expensively. The clothes were the best of when I was thinner. I'm glad she could use them.
I got KFC on the way home. Now I am tired. I think I will read some.
Saturday, August 10
I have had fun creating web pages for my kids today. You can find links to them by going to the home page. I have to figure out how to give them their own guest books.
I need a Pepsi.
Dinner tonight: Collard greens, chicken and rice.
I was working on changing the background of my 12 Step Blog and now the stuff in the left column is centered vertically and I don't know how to change it. Does anybody know???
Friday, August 9
I redid my HOME page twice today. Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase go over there and tell me what you think, okay?
TGIF
I am one happy camper. FRIDAY! Hey, Hey!
Boy it doesn't take much to amuse me, does it.
Steak for dinner, probably yellow rice and black beans. Biscuits. Salad.
Leroy is still working on his side job. I don't see him much lately. When I do, he is.........too pooped to pop.........so to speak.
I have update my HOME page. Tell me what you think, okay?
Wednesday, August 7
Okay, now you need to go to the Chatterbox on the left hand side, scroll down to the bottom and put me a message in there!
Just push delete to get the anonymus out of there and put in your name...........OR..........you can click on the little icon in the middle above it and pop it up and post a message there. I would like everyone, even folks who got here by accident, to post a message.
OKAY??? Okay.........
Tuesday, August 6
Tueday evening
I take an AA meeting into the county jail on Tuesday evenings. Did I tell you that? Mmmmmmmm.
Anyway, work was crazy today. The computers at work had a Sir Cam worm (virus) that had the computers doing the boogaloo, so I had a guy take them over the weekend and fix them. We he got them back yesterday, I figured out why I wasn't able to fix them before. I had destroyed the virus a couple of times, but it kept coming back. It never crossed my mind that the older computer that was networked to the two newer ones had not had Norton 2002 installed on it, nor had I checked it. So when the other ones came back, the virus popped back up and I KNEW then that that was what must have happened. So, today, I reinstalled all the database and stuff, then I problems out of a client, and I helped this other young woman find a database on her computer that she had lost, went to a meeting..............
I am cooking pot roast now. Thank God, that's easy enough because I have a TON of snail mail to go through and I have to work with my Quicken to get my bills paid. I just took two Aleve, a Paxil, one multi-vitamin, and 3 Milk Thistles. One of my kids must have snuck up behind me and drank my Diet Pepsi because it's gone too.
Hey!! Have you tried Pepsi Blue? I like it!
Monday, August 5
Home again!
Leighanne did very well at her MRI. I don't know how she did it! I could not have layed there like that. I was so proud of her.
I found the neatest web log with the neatest stuff. You have to go there and see it. It is list below!
The little kids are at the park and Destiny is mad at me because I would not let her go. She said she was going to tell her Mommy. I said, "you are going to tell WHO?". She said, "I am going to tell Joy, my MOMMY!!" I said nothing. What could I say. She calls me Mommy, but I am her Grandmother. I love her more than anything in the world, but I am not her "real" Mommy.
I wanted to say something ugly like "You can't tell her anything because she isn't here, I AM!!" But............I didn't. It hurts, but then children all hurt you sometime or the other. Not like that though.
Naked Thoughts
This Blog has the BEST goodies!!!
Are we there yet?
mmmmmmmmmm
A problem with blogger.............
I found this neat bandwidth checker. Try it out!
Leighanne
Lee Lee has been complaining about back pain for a couple of years now. I figured "growing pains", but Leroy insisted I mention it the doctor when I take her for her annual physical. They ordered X rays and, sure enough, she has some kind of boney overgrowth on her spine and she has an MRI today.
It works out well anyway, because the Rec Center that they go to is on a half day schedule this week. The first day of school is Wednesday! Things will be getting back to normal in that way.
I guess I should make some attempt at cleaning since I have a free morning until 11 o'clock!
Sunday, August 4
Hey, check out my new weather girl down on the left!
Well, I fixed the link a little bit, but on my computer the side bar on the right is still messed up.
I got some requests to make thumbnails of my pictures on my other page, and I will. I now know how to do it finally! It will take time though.
We went to church this morning. There was a baptism. Rev. Perry wants Leroy to be baptised again. He has not talked to me about it. Leroy, thinks that because he was baptised before that should be good enough. We will have to talk to Rev. Perry more about it.
I am happy though that our lives are more focused in the right direction. There was no GREAT revelation for us. It has happened slowly, but we are of one accord.
God has truly blessed my family!
Saturday, August 3
I attempted to put a link to my LINK page over there on the right. The one with the Rugrats on it, but I made it too big and I am too tired to screw with it tonight. See ya!
My weblog owns 37.5 % of me.
Does your weblog own you?
Oh yeah............
I stole pictures off the sites to make the links. If anyone is made they can let me know...............I'll blow you a cyber rasberry!
Hey,
Check out my new LINK PAGE. I took the link from the side and am putting them here one at a time. Tell me what you think!!
I need money!
School Shopping Sucks
I thought I had a handle on things. I had been buying stuff on sale here and there for the last couple of months, but of course now Jake has a job, and his own money. Which means......I had to take him shopping yesterday. Four hours...........I was in Ross, taking him to get his hair cut, in the mall. I couldn't even walk when I got home, and then, of course, there was another day today of taking the shoes back I bought Georgie, taking a shirt back for Jake, buying the girls' stuff (on sale) at the mall, going to the back, and then Sam's Club. All this time was spent with Jake's friend Steven, who...............is not my child so I can't knock him upside his head.
I'm tired of course, again, as usual.
So now, we are home. I just got finished washing the dog and I am going to take Jake to Net Park to catch his bus to go to work. He gets off at midnite tonight.
Leroy was doing some side work. Our money has been short because they have cut back to 40 hours a week on his job. He is working on fixing some dry wall in a church office, and then he is going over to cut the grass at our church, Emmanuel Baptist. I don't think he will charge Pastor Perry though. He'll get paid for the work in the other church offic though.
Now..........what's for dinner? I have no clue.
How To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity
1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.
3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.
4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "in".
5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
6. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sexual favors".
7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance with the prophecy."
8. Don't use any punctuation marks.
9. As often as possible, ! skip rather than walk.
10. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.
11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go".
12. Sing along at the opera.
13. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.
14. Put mosquito netting around your work area. Play a tape of jungle sounds all day.
15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.
16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Hard Kim.
17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I won!", "I won!""3rd time this week!!!!!"
18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling "run for your lives, they're loose!!"
19. Tell your children over dinner. "due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go."
Good Morning!
I seem to be back on the upswing! One day at a time around here....................
Exhaustion
To the max! I couldn't even get up this morning. Guess the Hep C still kicks in from time to time. That trip was a bit much for me. I have the pictures up in the "current photos" section over there to the right.
I am at home today and I am going to call it a sick day, but I am still doing work stuff. I have a ton of mail to go through as well. Have to go to the grocery store for bread, but I sure don't feel like doing it.
