Rainy Day

We had a great day yesterday. We went to the Devil Ray/Marlins baseball game and afterwards we went out to eat at Tia's Tex Mex.

Today, it's rainy. I'm making smothered chicken breasts, rice and pole beans with strawberry shortcake for desert. I also rent the movie A Beautiful Mind. I rented other ones too, but that was mainly for the kids. I did get Mullholland Drive, but I'm not sure what that is about. I used to live in Hollywood though, so I have an idea.

I may post some pictures here of the game yesterday................

Iguana

I can't believe I never told you about Moe our Iguana....or Moesha. We have had her almost 5 years. She's big. Jake is moving her cage outside today. It's warm and she can spend some time in the sun. Of course we have to do an Internet search and see if we are doing the right thing.

No one tooted in my grandmother's house.

You know everyone toots around here. From the biggest to the smallest, and they say FART. I was raised in my grandmother's house most of the time. I do not remember EVER hearing anyone toot. No one said FART.....EVER. As I said, I lived with my grandmother most of my younger years, and although my mother had other children, my sister Sherry and my brother Bill were older than me by 10 and 9 years. They lived with their dad most of the time, and my younger sister Paula was raised by her Dad so most of the time I was the only kid around. Even the times my older brother and sister were around, they were so much older that we didn't have the comrodarie (misspelled) that my children have. So what does that have to do with farting you ask............I don't have a clue.

Geeeez

It seems I don't have time to do anything anymore, including blog. I have been teaching my Steppin' Stones class this week. To the general public, not just the noncustodial parents. I have 13 women and 6 men in this class. Mixed classes seem harder to teach that just men. I can play the mother role with the young men, but it's not that easy with a mixed class. I will say though, that it has worn me out this week.

I have REALLY been noticing little babies lately. I am so used to having a baby in the house, and now that Destiny is 4 years old....well....I don't have a baby. Maybe I can find one to watch. I stopped taking my birth control pills last month, and I actually kind of had a few hopes. I was only taking my pills because it is unsafe to get pregnant when you are on the treatment for the Hep C I was on. Anyway, it didn't work. Leroy seems to think it's him, and it very well may be. God knows what he's doing. I don't really need another baby, but........................... Okay, I know.............I sound like some po' you-know-what. I love my children even though they run me crazy. I kind of love the craziness. I love cooking and big meals, and even when the girls' won't go to sleep. I like having other kids' over and feeding them and having them help clean the house, but I miss having a little baby. Okay.......Free babysitting in Tampa! Just bring them here. LOLOLOL

Hello

I used pancake mix and made a kind of a crust on the bottom of a large cake pan which I sprayed heavily with Pam first. I browned ground beef with Worstershire Sauce and peppers. Made mashed potatoes. Poured the drained ground beef over the crust, put Povilon (spelled wrong) cheese over that, and then cheddar cheese, topped it with mashed potatoes. Had no eggs to make it more solid with, but I will see how it turns out. Who knows????? I sure don't.
Like my little joke??

A to Z

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Y es, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

After all these years on computers, I have discovered games. I just found these for the kids.

I have never been one to "play" much. Leroy is the big kid here. I guess that's because he never had much growing up time. Of course that is something I have never discussed here. As a matter of fact the only person I have ever told about Leroy's past was Shirley in San Diego. Anyway.........since I have been off my treatment and made it through with all my hair, I have enjoyed every day God has blessed me with.
Father's Day Photos
Hi

We had a great Father's Day. We went to Emmanual Baptist Church, then out to eat at the Frontier Steak House. Afterward we came home, and I downloaded a game off the Internet. Leroy even played. Then, the kids talked us into going fishing and we went to Lettuce Lake Park. We found a GREAT spot. You have to go down a trail and a walk way to get there, but it is right by the river. I am going to put the pictures we took on the MSN site and put a link here.

Sunday, June 16

Good Mornin'!

We ended up seeing Bourne Identity at the drive in last night. It was good. Undercover Brother was going to play after it, but we never can stay up that late.

We're going to Emmanuel Baptist this morning. I've got French Toast sticks in the oven and I am going to scramble some eggs.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Here are the pics of my class this week!!!
Friday Night

We went to Ryan's to eat tonight. I love their rolls! Afterwards, we went to the park and hit golf balls. I was really amazed at how FAR Leroy can hit a ball. He seems to have a natural talent!

We took our dog, Molly, with us. She ran herself out! The kids had tons of fun.

My class graduated my Steppin' Stones Job Readiness Training class today. They went to mock interviews all over town and everyone said they would hire them! It was a great class, and I am proud of them. I will put a link here to the MSN site where I put there pictures I took this week.

Thursday, June 13

I did it!!!

I finally put the recipe for Paula's Chicken Enchiladas on it's own web page. Now......these are the GREATEST!!!

Wednesday, June 12

I am SO tired...............

and my feet hurt. Leroy went to take the boys to church. Jake is taking P.J., Frank, Steven (boys from the 'hood) and his brother George with him.

There is a teen summer camp for Jake that runs from the 17th of this month until school starts. $350 for those weeks. I will take donations.

Monday, June 10

Ask me if I am tired..............

Again, I'm pooped! Started teaching my Steppin' Stones class for the noncustodial parents today. Teaching always exhausts me. We have a lot of info to cover. Today we just introduction to each other and the CDC of Tampa where I work, and where there are a lot of programs available to the fella's, and we got about half the Resume Worksheets done.

Jake cooked dinner tonight. It was great. Shells, sauce and hamburger. Leroy and I had the Spring Mix salad, which is my favorite. George, Lee Lee, and Jamila started their swimming lessons at the Rec Center today. I also signed them up for other field trips like ice skating, a N-Sync Concert, etc. Destiny has several field trips to go on with the Day Care as well. I think we will probably let Jake go down to Ft. Lauderdale after his 16th birthday, which is the 5th of July, and work with his big brother (Leroy's oldest son-Leroy Jr. who is 29) doing Landscaping. It will give him some money for school clothes and help him with his work ethic. I am going to have to trust him to go away sometimes.

I need a HOT bath and bed. Night, Night!!!!!!

Sunday, June 9

Grass Seed

Our scruffs of grass are trying to come up, so I guess I will go ahead and add some grass seed and top soil. It's getting too late for Leroy to try to bring new fill dirt in, etc.
Lewis--Tyson

We watched the Heavy Weight Championship of the World last night. They messed with me, and messed with me about ordering it, so finally I did. Then, I got all excited about watching it, and Jake had gone to the movies. At 10 p.m., Jake called and I had to go get him and the two girls who went with him, take the girls home, and we didn't get back til 11:15. Tyson was just walking into the ring. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm, I just noticed that his name was Tyson (as in Tyson Chicken). That seems more appropriate.

It wasn't much of a fight. REALLY was not worth 60 bucks! One thing though.........that young man Lenox Lewis seemed to be a calculated, controlled, and handsome young man. Well...that's my opinion.

Saturday, June 8

Good Mornin' World!

It was a busy week, but I had a good night last night. Leroy went "out of his way", and I JUST woke up. LOLOLOL

Hey, wanna make mp3 CDs? I just found this! They have all the old stuff too!!!!

Wednesday, June 5

I am working on getting new pictures up. It may take me a while!!!
Fights

Well both my boys got into fights last evening. I don't approve of fighting but sometimes you just gotta do, what you gotta do. Jake was fighting a BIG boy. No one stopped them, but no one "won" the fight. I believe Jake could have beat that boy's tail. He's a big bully. I feel sorry for him because his mother and dad are both dead, but his behavior is usually very poor.

George ended up getting into a fight with his brother. The brother called George a redneck and said the f word.

You know it's strange having a mixed family sometimes. Jake is white, but he lives primarily in a black culture. His brothers and sisters are mixed, his dad is black. I wonder sometimes if he feels like I do. Not really a total part of any racial group, but part of the over all human race. Jake and I have discussed how we feel that "African American" functions, clubs, etc. is a form of separatism and how we feel left out. I don't think a lot of folks would understand that. I know Leroy doesn't. He just emphasizes what the other race does. Ah well................someday....................

Hi! This is the translated version of a young German man's website. His name is Daniel Platzer. We have been in contact. Maybe he can help me learn more about a different culture.

If you visit his site, please email him. I don't think there is a guest book. So he will know he is getting more visitors!

Hey!!!!

Look HERE, I'm famous!
Run a Foot Race Lately?

My son Jake beat me so badly. He even gave me a halfway headstart. But I ran it. First time I have ran in I don't know how long. It hurt the inside of my thighs..............
Look at Collapse. I made it to Level 7-----90,972
Oh my God!

I found this site's link on Chain of Daisies! I have been found out! Or have found a kindred spirit.
I made some changes here.
I just did this page for Shortcake, but it is not my recipe. Sound's good though! Tell me what you think.
Underneath Clean

You know there is a difference between cleaning and doing underneath cleaning. Both suck though. We have been doing underneath cleaning of the bedrooms today.............all day. My bedroom was the worst of course. I have the kids keep up with theirs better, but under my bed was like the dust bowl. Leroy's dresser.............well, there's not even words for how it was.

All throw rugs and sheets are being washed. Leroy is fixing the microwave I blew up by setting it for 99 minutes with nothing in it, when I meant to just put the timer on. Jake fixed the TV, VCR, Playstation area in Georgie's room.

We are going to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Thonotosassa tomorrow. It's only about 3 miles from here. Rev. Perry is the Pastor there. He also runs the Pulling for Progress program that I teach my Steppin' Stones job readiness/life skills training class for once a month. Neat guy. The boys have been going to church there on Wednesday night for quite a while, and they really seem to like it.

What am I going to do about dinner tonight?
Have you looked at my new HOME page?
Savings Accounts

I guess other people are experts at financial planning, but I have never had enough money to plan with. I have never had a college plan for the kids. There are too many of them, and I always figured if they planned to go to college, then they better plan to get a scholarship or work their way through. Folks do that, you know? But I DID finally open a savings account for all five kids. I have scheduled $10 a piece to go in those accounts per month. I guess it's better late than never.
